What inspires me…
I draw the majority of my inspiration directly from my clients. Once I’ve met you and I feel I know you, it is time to develop the ideas we have collaborated on. Inspiration for this is hard to explain because of its spontaneous nature. It can come from spotting an item in an Antiques shop or walking past a billboard and loving a colour or shape. At this point I need to thank my trusty iPad… I don’t go anywhere without it!
What makes me different…
Well… I’ve been “creative” for as long as I can remember. Designing and making everything from stationery to curtains, advertising material to interior décor as well as dabbling with photography. Having an “eye” for detail & finishing touches has meant that being creative is a part of me that I simply can’t ignore, even when my professional life led me into financial management! Creativity has lead me to work with a lot of different people, all of which have taught me how important it is to know the client, really get under their skin and understand them. I love that I can really understand their needs as if they were my own by putting myself in their shoes.
How I got here…
Pulling together the details for a 30th Birthday Party came naturally to me. From this one party I was asked to exhibit at a wedding fayre. A rush of inspiration for creating samples and a manic few weeks getting my stand together completely consumed me. I achieved 3 bookings from 1 very quiet fayre and the rest is history. It’s only now that I can put my hand on my heart and say it was one of the best decisions to “go for it” that I have ever made! 4 Years down the line, I’ve built a very respectable reputation for outstanding stationery and customer service. It’s not unusual for our clients to end up spending more time chatting with us than they do with their wedding planner!
So that’s me in a nutshell! As with most people, there’s more to learn but we can talk about that when we meet!
