The White Hart celebrate Burns Night every year with a
traditional Burns Supper complete with Haggis, Poems
& Piper! This year, Leigh Cross & Phil Todd (Proprietors)
decided to complete the event with keepsakes for their
guests.
These place settings are simple, yet an extremely effective
way of decorating a venue.
Although the Blue Thistle is not quite the Traditional
Scottish choice, it was chosen as it can be hung to dry
(retaining its colour) which meant that the guest
could keep it.
The Tag attached to the Thistle is decorated with a picture
of Robert Burns and the Selkirk Grace (A Robert Burns
Poem, which traditionally starts the Burns Supper).
The
Tartan Ribbon creates a neat napkin ring completing the
ensemble.

This year dining
guests received a memento for Valentines at the
White Hart (Wimbish).
These Handmade Fabric Hearts were initially designed
to hang around the neck of a wine/champagne bottle,
and could then be kept to hang as a decorative memento.
They are another great way of decorating a venue, this
time, without the use of flowers (or expensive Red Roses
for this time of year!).
Each heart bears the name of the dinning couple, together
with the date and venue.

Leigh
Cross of The White Hart Restaurant & Bar in Wimbish
commissioned me to decorate the tables and create the
“alternative cracker” for the 49 guests dining
with them on Christmas Day.
Gold
table runners adorned crisp white tables with sprinkles
of gold star confetti, together with hand-made Napkin
Rings decorated with Holly Leaves & Berry Red Beads.
A Menu, Lottery Ticket Gift & Poem Card and Game Instructions
were displayed centrally on each table in wooden blocks.
The
“alternative cracker” bags were personalised
for each guest with a name tag and included traditional
cracker items such as a joke (of which, no two were the
same) and tissue hat (which was inscribed with the name
of a famous person to enable the guests to play a game).
Also included were individually wrapped handmade liqueur
truffles for the adults and sweets for the children, star
confetti and net trimming.
